The sounds of screams echoed everywhere. Mothers yelling for their sons, fathers yelling for their daughters, and husbands yelling for their families to run as the crackling of fire and explosions resounded everywhere.
A boy around the age of seven cries in his room as he hears a familiar voice, his father’s voice, speaking in the next room. Confused, he cries out for them, wondering why his mother and father were not coming to his rescue.
“Go save Logan! Take him north!” a distant voice screams. “Go, this is my fault. This is the only way!”
A woman’s voice, his mother's, desperately pleads, “This is suicide Alex. No one is a match for him, not even you. He will kill you.”
“I have to try Laina. He is already destroying the world as we know it! Someone has to try! Please,” he said, “Take our son and go north to Alderan before it’s too late.”
“I love you so much Alex!”
“I love you too Laina. Now go!”
Screams erupted from right outside their wooden house. “Where are you Alex?” A deep and powerful voice echoed through the wooden house. “I know you’re here.”
“It’s too late! Laina you must go now!”

Seeing one of his two main reasons for living sneak into the back room towards Logan, his son, he begins to walk outside. Thoughts of what he had wanted to teach his son flutter through his mind. In those few steps, a lifetime of dreams and memories crept into his thoughts. He remembered watching his son cast his first ball of fire and how he had burned his mother's most favored rug. He dreamed of teaching his son how to revive the wilderness, how to heal an animal, how to call lightning into his fist, and how to take control of the weather around you.
Shaking the thoughts and tears away, Alex the father wore off and was replaced immediately by Alexander the wielder.

“Shhh,” she said soothingly while cradling her son’s head and rubbing his hair. “It’s all going to be ok now, Mommy’s here.” Unnatural lightning blue eyes glowed back at her. She loved her son so much; he was so very special.
Through the destruction and the terror, she knew her son would live for Cyndrill had promised her and Alex that she would protect him. She smiled at her son.
"Mother I'm so sorry for everything I've done that hurt you and Dad." She heard her son say through tears.
"Shhh, there is no need for you to apologize. You have never hurt me nor your father." She said soothingly.
She pushed him to arms length so that she was staring into his eyes. "Know this, your father and I love you more than you can imagine and you have never hurt nor disappointed either of us."
She pulled him back and hugged his head as another explosion erupted from outside.
"Hold him off for a little longer Alex." She thought as she fought off the tears.

A noise entered in through the next room and an evil laugh echoed against the walls as a tall, black haired, lanky man of average built walked in. “And where do you think you’re going Laina?” He had a sick and dark voice fool of anger.
“Move Charron.” Laina demanded.
“Now now now, is that any way to speak to me dearest Laina?” Eeriness crept into his voice.
“I warned you.” She said as an enormous blast erupted from the wall behind the man. Lightening soared at the man as he hurled a red ball of energy towards the woman.
Immediately the man groans in agony, “You stupid woman!”
Through the smoke you can see him leave, holding the contents of his stomach in with his hand while gasping for each breath.
On the ground, the beautiful brown haired woman with green eyes is also fighting for each breath. She struggles to pull herself up and with her last breath she whispers into Logan's ear, “I love you baby. I will always be with you.” She kisses him on the forehead and falls lifelessly onto the ground.

The dark figure that called Alex out earlier stepped over the lifeless body of the boy’s mother.
A deep and terrifying voice came from the man. “Now, after wasting so many years of searching for your father, I will take great pleasure in killing his son as well.”

The boy named Logan, confused and afraid by what was happening around him, screamed to no avail for his parents.
He backed into a wall trying to put as much distance between him and the looming figure.
"Mom wake up!” he tried shouting but his tears turned it into a hoarse whisper.
"Enough of this," the dark figure growled.
"Mother!"
The dark man raised his hand and Logan feels a terrible essence rise from the figure.
Pain, healing, power, beauty, happiness, fear, the essence of life filled his tiny body. The power consumes him, becomes him, it is too much. It begins to fill him beyond his human limits. A red flash appears out of the dark figures hand. The inner power that was overwhelming the tiny little boy explodes in a deafening roar. The man is thrown back causing him to crash against the wall. Cuts appear all over the man’s body. His dark eyes were confused and full of fear as he crawled into the shadows. With blood soaking the floor, the groaning figure disappears, struggling to stay alive.
Suddenly tired and afraid, Logan waits inside the charred crumble, listening, waiting for the cause of the destruction to fade away.
After about an hour, the tired, frail, scared little boy walks out onto the street. Everywhere around him mimics his own destroyed house. Men, women, children, and death devoured the town of Raken’s Valley. Tired from the blast, the helpless boy stumbles and falls. Without the strength to rise he hears the words “take him and go north to Alderan" whispered repeatedly as blackness slowly engulfs him.
